Why this film
The Kosaris is not a novel. It is a reading book — twelve chapters and a foreword,
running along the four pillars: Chronesis (the knowing of time),
Philotimos (the honour of serving), Aletheris (the unveiling of truth)
and Timaris (the measuring of worth).
The book is told by Kosus to Anthea in his last year. Each section is an image —
the forgotten harbour, the ship that does not know where its bridge is, the baker who weighs
and does not ask, Malta as a gathering place, the princess who awakens.
This film brings those images back into moving image and sound. Twelve chapters
with voice, music and illustration. Each chapter is a small image in itself,
but together they form one weave: the weaving from which a new order can grow.
The ending is not in the book. The ending is yours.
